I am in wordpress 2.8.4 with the latest AIOSEO. It seems that the WP tagline is filling the first set of meta tags, then AIOSEO fills in the second set. I deleted the tagline and now have blank meta-tags near the top. I am afraid that two sets of meta-tags won't work with google. I don't have server information.

Thank you for your help. Problem solved-it was the theme. Do you know if it is possible to move the AIOSEO tags closer to the title tag? Or how AIOSEO gets invoked?

Nice quote by the way about losing one's soul. They don't use that in B -school.

Google webmaster tools told me I had hundreds of duplicate tags – shame on me.

It happened due to over zealous use of SEO.

Correct me but this is what I found from experimenting.

SEO will take H1, categories and tags and convert them into meta tags.

If I fill in the form on the plug-in with the same summary and tags, they get repeated. That's what Google took exception to – tag stuffing they called it.

So I only fill in the title box which seems to do nothing, use H1 for the summary and the rest is automatic.
