When I write a post underneath the title of the post it gives you the option to edit the permalink. I always edit it so that my main keyword is in the URL but there is always a number first. Example: Post Title: Home Based Internet Business! I then edit the permalink right below the title and I would like it to be search engine friendly so I edit it like so:
4 questions: 1) Does this permalink even mean anything in terms of SEO? 2) Is there a way of removing the number from the linlk? 3) If the link does matter is it better to insert my keyword phrase with or without dashes? 4) If I am using All in One SEO, does that override everything else in terms of SEO?

One more question: As I grow the size of my blogs is it best to add an optimized page or an optimized post? When I add a page I don't have the problem with the number being in the permalink. Bottom line is I am trying to optimize all my blogs the best way possible. I have always created websites and I knew how to optimize those but I am transitioning over to Wordpress blogs with Jeff Johnsons Traffic Getting SEO 2.02 and I am beginning to see that there is a bigger learning curve than I expected.

Well it's Howard again! I apologize about not responding, this is going to sound ridiculous but every time I get a response I am notified by email and all that does is bring me to the response but it does not log me in, so when I hit login I lose my spot and cannot remember what I posted my question under. It just took me 10 minutes to find this! I know pretty stupid Huh?
I do appreciate you trying to help me…A LOT!! I keep reading the tutorials but I think because I bought the Thesis theme the tutorials are not helping me. I just want to be able to create these series of blogs correctly because I swore I could do it as my own project.
I don't even know what a permalink structure is, I just know if I create a new page the permalink becomes a regular URL but when I add a post it has the number after the domain and then I can insert my keyword but I cannot remove the number.
I am going to do some research on permalink structure and see if that helps me.

Thank you very much for the link it definitly taught me everything I needed to know about permalinks. I restructured the way I had mine set up and now it is much more Google friendly.

You have all those links pointing to the page they are on (Home Page) to change your permalink structure go into your Wordpress admin and under Settings your will see Permalinks you click on that and you set it to "Custom Structure" and then I like to set mine as /%postname%/ while others like to have the category in there but I see much better rankings with just postname.
OK now if you want to Gucci High Heel Shoes from your home page to your Gucci High Heel Shoes page/post you would set your in-text link as such: Gucci High Heel Shoes
I am not sure what keyphrase you are optimizing for but after copying your URL it looks as though you have it set to /%postname%.html but I can't be sure because I don't know what the c-112 is at the end.
