We use AIOSEO with great effect on our site. But we have just upgraded and if we select log warnings we get 'unable to write' warnings on the site. But more importantly, it would seem that you no longer use custom fields for the description. Our theme has been set to use Meta Descriptions instead of the excerpt on catergory pages and the home page. It now doesn't work as the descriptions seem to be genearated after the page has run. How can we resolve this?

Can no one help with this? Our serps are dropping back already as we were using the Meta descriptions – carefully crafted – as snippets on the category pages. Now it doesn't work. How can we resolve this?

I PM'd you on this, but I guess it's a bit of a cheek!

But our serps are dropiing on Archgive pages we previously ranked for quite badly already, as we are no longer showing the Meta Description as the excerpt, but the first few lines of the posts. We were using:

$metadesc = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'description', true);
if ($metadesc) {
   echo $metadesc;
} else {
   the_excerpt();
}

As the php to achieve this, but we are at a loss as to how to change it to use the new setup. Can you, or anyone else, help?
