I am so upset!! I just updated 2 different sites for a client of mine, of which we have spent the past 2 weeks building for, and every single post has had ALL of its previous Title, Description and keywords DELETED. I can't even begin to imagine how peeved those of us who have large sites with hundreds of posts are going to be over this. I have always readily upgraded the SEO from you guys knowing its to my benefit. Now I have a complete nightmare on my hands.

What can we do to get this all back?

I would say that you could probably follow the instructions and and click the two buttons that say “update database…” and then enable the plugin on the AIOSEOP configuration page.

And I would then say maybe your "instructions", that don't seem to appear ANYWHERE, should tell users to upgrade the databases FIRST before activating. I dont have access to my customers database, therefore was waiting for him to upgrade. Not seeing ANYWHERE that this needs to be done first, is going to upset alot of people…

We can sit here and debate this all day, but the fact is, it doesnt say that the databases need to be updated before activating. Most people are nervous about touching their database. You could have kindly advised us that it needs to be done in order for everything to work. Yes, I see the big red messages, but again, it does not say it must be done FIRST.

As developers, doing the database update may seem logical to you all, but it wont be to the average jo blow that is simply updating plugins because it says to.

Help us out and please add a line stating the database update MUST be done first.

Thank you.

I've had the same problem. There's gotta be a better way. This is scary, especially when you have a multiplicity of blogs to upgrade. I'm not upgrading anything else. Too risky.

Sorry, I just tried it again on another blog and lost all the meta tags. I have zero confidence in this upgrade. Something is terribly flawed. You can say it's harmless all you want. My experience is completely different. It's upsetting, to say the least. I'm out of patience with it and am abandoning this in favor of enjoying my weekend.

Its impossible to follow the instructions when only one database button appears. Please understand, it's hit or miss whether two or just one database button shows up. Seems where there's only one, the fields show up empty. I'm perfectly capable of following instructions. It's when the process is flawed that problems arise. From my POV, something needs fixing.

Your admonition to get away from the "Click Here" mentality is misplaced. That's precisely the way it should work, IMO, and you haven't provided that. Otherwise, your going to have a ton of people who get screwed up. All I want to do is click and get the upgrade automatically without having to think or do anything else. I'm sure most bloggers feel that way. I'm a marketer, not a techie, and databases terrify me. I'm a Fantastico kind of guy, and I'm sure the majority of the plugin's users are just that.

I just upgraded another site without incident. However, I stick by my commentary above for dummies. I admit to being the lowest common denominator. 300001/1

I'm pretty sure I pressed the first button, then the second and then enabled the Plugin.  Presto.  All gone, blank, zippo, etc.

OK. What I found was that when I click the database buttons, I get a horrorfying green updating page, and then it all goes blank. However by hitting the back button, I get the AIO page back, and when I click the next database button, the same thing happens. Again, I hit the back button and hit the enable radio button and the update button, and it all falls into place with previous settings preserved and the update is complete. Hope this helps.

I'm sure these folks have worked very hard on this, and, maybe this is the only way this update could be accomplished. I haven't a clue about that. Nonetheless, it does work. This has been a very useful plugin, and I'm glad it's continuing to do it's job. I'm just grumbling now about having to do the extra work on multiple sites. I trust this is a significant improvement.

OK, I have read everything and it seems that I have a similar, but not exactly the same problem.

Today I have upgraded All in One plugin in one of my blogs – everything is OK there. After this success I decided to upgrade another blog of mine and here is what I got (please, take a look at the picture) – http://picasaweb.google.bg/lh/…..directlink

Please, advise me how to configure and Enable my Upgarded All in One SEO plugin provided that all I cann see on its admin page is wjat you see on the screenshot.

In case you need other details – like wordpress configuration, other plugins installed, etc. – I will provide them to you.But it is strange to have one blog upgraded successfully and anotner one – not successfully (both use WordPress 2.8.1 and All in One 1.6.1)

I will apreciate very much your help.

I'm here to get my blog fixed so I won't loose too much traffic, so anyone that can help me out with this will be very much appreciated.

I upgraded.  I pressed the buttons that said upgrade my database and in my admin section, it looks like its working fine. The info is in the plugin field below the content in each post with the info I put in before I upgraded. The main admin of the plugin shows that what I saved is in the fields.

However on the actual blog, it is not working. The titles are the article titles, not what the AIOSP Title says it should say. like it did before the upgrade. Same thing on my homepage. Its saying my blog name and then what appears to be the first few words of my previous description before I upgraded….

I love this plugin, has made a big difference in traffic. Please help me fix this issue.

I'm sure this is totally my fault, I must have hit the wrong button.

Thanks in advance for your help

Nevermind, I guess you have to rewrite titles to get that stuff to work.  Sorry about that.

I knew it was something I did wrong!
