Wp Admin Password Login Issue Troubleshooting Using WordPress Forum

Hi all,

Am a relative newbie to WP and new to this forum. I am having a problem logging into my WP site admin? Have been trying all day and surprisingly had no response back from the WP support forum.

I can get to the u/n and p/w login part but when I click enter am immediately taken to 'I must reset my password' and may 'not re-use old passwords', enter my new password below, then once more to confirm. If I enter a new 12 digit password as required it just takes me to the site and not into the admin section of the site, so basically I can't get in.

My concern is maybe have inherited some form of virus although dont quite know how, I use a mac and nothing untoward has happened. However, I did install a couple of security plugins on this site, login lock and one or two more, and am reluctant to keep entering passwords so basically – as the site / domain is relatively new, how can I wipe it and start afresh ensuring all plugins etc are eradicated and I can just do a new WP install theme etc from there.
